At age 18, J. Anthony Roman started the theater company New Dimension (1997-2002). He wrote, produced, and acted with the company that had shows at the New York City Fringe Festival, and The American Theater for Actors. In 2004, he won the Best Play award at the first 8 Minute Madness Festival for Turtle Shell Productions. His full length play The Vacant Sky was also presented as a staged reading at the 2006 NYC Hip Hop Theater Festival, and featured Obie award winning actor Russell G. Jones.  Anthony had a sold out run of his writer’s showcase No Matinees, which featured a collection of his short plays, at Center Stage NY in June of 2008.  Blackouts was his first full length production, produced by Swan Dive Studios in October 2009. In July 2010, his one person play Perv was presented at the Labyrinth Summer Intensive, and was read by actress Ana Ortiz. Perv had a two night run as a co-production by the Overturn Theater Ensemble and the Nuyorican Poet’s Café in April of 2011.  In November 2011, his work went international, as The Corner Theatre in the United Kingdom put up his one act Older Faults. He recently contributed to the April 2012 edition to NY Madness, a monthly evening on one acts in New York City that features many other up and coming writers.
